Check all your local pounds and shelters, collars and tags can come off. You may also want to contact all the vets in your area, just in case somebody brings him in.

Good luck! and keep us posted.

If you haven't already, please visit the SCDD in St. Hubert daily (not enough to just call, please go there yourself) as they only keep animals 5 days before placing for adoption or euthanasia.

http://www.scdd.qc.ca/en/contact.shtml

There's also the SPCA Montérégie
178 Chemin du Vide
Sainte-Angèle-de-Monnoir
Québec, J0L 1P0 (450) 460-3075

And don't forget SPCA Montreal, 5215 rue Jean-Talon Ouest (514) 735-2711

Hope you're re-united soon :fingerscr .

Thank you guys..

I checked the SCDD many times and called in even more, they know my case.
The guy there said that he's not annoyed by our calls, on the contrary he said 80% of dogs they get have no one looking for them or even inquiring about them, so he's glad this one would go back home! Can you imagine!!

I went to Berger Blanc too, will go again for sure. They have my poster there too.

I will go to both SPCAs today for sure and give them posters... And the vets I didn't visit too. Our vet knowns about it.

I posted in many local stores, gas stations, even the local Blockbuster
I handed posters to ppl in the street, put them in mailboxes, on street poles, bus stations, etc. I posted in yesterday's Journal the Montréal and today's Journal de Saint-Hubert... I dunno what else to do really...

My other dog insn't interested in anything, hardly eats...

This is really weird, and we are thinking someone might keeping her for themself... I really hope that's not the case. But there are unfortunately some sick people on this earth...

I'd add 'may have been stolen' to your poster, so people aren't just looking for a wandering dog but maybe noticing a neighbour who suddenly acquires one. All they would have to do is throw away the tags
Keep making the rounds, keep talking to people in the area where she disappeared. Ask the vets who you send the poster to (fax is good for this) to post it in their waiting rooms. You might also send it to groomers in your area since your girl might roll up there for a trim.
Such a sweet face, I hope you will be looking into it soon.

Yes, people can be totally selfish, that's for sure.

Hope you find your dog soon.

I added Maybe Stolen to my posters, thanks for the tip! (and ''Please check your garages and sheds'', as I knew a lady who lost her cat and we found it just a few meters away in the window of someone's garage, trapped! )

Can you share the circumstances on how she got lost?
Which end of Westley are you near? Grande Allee or Maricourt?
There are two schools in the area, one on Westley and the other on Kensington. If you ask some of the children who walk to school someone may have seen Ellie.
Another thing you can do is ask people who are out walking their dogs. Maybe someone has seen her. There is one particular man who walks his dog every day in our area. He has a Bernese Mountain dog. He seems to know a lot of dog people as I often see him with other people and their dogs. He is usually walking in the early evenings.
Good luck

Well, my grandparents live right accross Gaetan-Boucher school, next to the church... she left their backyard by going over the snow covered fence, then under the trees surrounding their yard, towards Quevillon, into the presbytery's backyard. Then I never saw her again... She can run fast when she wants to... I went for a walk with another dog thinking it could attract her but i didnt see her anywhere and it was soon getting kinda dark, it was around 7.30 pm... It was so quick! She just disappeared...

I put some flyers in the mailboxes there, but no one called yet...

We do give out flyers to people we meet on the street, especially the ones with children and dogs, but no one seems to know anything...

We keep putting flyers at the bus stops, but for some reason the ones at the cross of westley and payer, and westley and barlow always get removed... thats kinda odd. I think I'll keep an eye out for whoever removes them... someone told me there is a cleaner who pick up the trash... but I don't believe he would only do two bus shelters... The bus shelter at Maricourt still has its poster...

I thought about going out checkin the streets on tuesday cuz it was garbage day and if she's hungry she'll be sniffing the garbage bags. (If we eat chicken one day, she goes nuts for our own garbage bags lol ) But I never saw her...

The weather wasn't great either, so she can't be far, unless someone picked her up. Friday evening it was freezing cold, then more cold, wind, and soon rain... so we are trying to really think up new things but we have no clue...

Today I went all the way to the Monteregie SPCA and then Montreal SPCA... and left them posters. I wanted to adopt them all offcourse, but still no Ellie... = (

Boy, they are not kidding when they say they are overflowing with stray dogs!! The number of cats was spectacular too... how sad!

Anyways... all of this stress is tiring... I'll go to bed now and dream of Ellie barking so much at her new owners that they just want to give her back :dog:= )

Hi! Guess what? My dream worked =) I found her!!

She must have wandered in the small woods behind cornwall street, because at lunch time, she went and slept on an old man's house balcony... And the man went to see one of his neighbours thiking it was one of her two Shipoo dogs. That lady saw my poster in the depanneur on Payer and went to get my number and she called me! None of them wanted a reward as I insisted. What angels!

Ellie was all shivering and scruffy... She's so thin! And her skin if full of blisters... I'm taking her to the vet in half an hour.
And oh boy did she go for the food bowl as soon as she entered!! Ok, I gave her her favorite cookies too:rolleyes:

Thank you all!!!:thankyou:
