Acne on cat's chin

My kitty has some acne on her chin and the vet has given me some hibatane (antiseptic soap) to wash her chin off with twice a day. Since the stuff is so close to her mouth, I'm worried she might ingest some of it accidentally. Although I'm very careful while applying it, her chin comes into contact with her front legs while sleeping and she licks that very same area on her legs while grooming herself. My vet didn't mention anything about rinsing it off after so I'm assuming I just have to dilute it (50%-50%) and apply it with a cotton gauze. Is there anything else I should be doing after applying it? Thanks a lot!

Hi Peeks, I would rinse off the soap, might irritate the skin. You can use an ointment after washing, you can also use Hydrogen Peroxide and you don't have to worry about rinsing this off. Do you use plastic bowls? If so you should switch to stainless steel. Plastic holds a lot of dirt and bacteria which can cause chin acne.
