The crime:

Disemboweled freeze dried beef treats

Suspect:

Vladimir Rasputin Rodriguez aka Papuchi

The suspect was seen in the vicinity of the treats the night before. He was the last kitty to see the treats intact.

When confronted with the pictures of the bedraggled treats he denied all knowledge of ever having seen the treats, until confronted with this image.

Knowing he had been caught the suspect confessed. As he was being taken away however, he was heard saying, "I'm not going down alone, Maks was there too!"

Later that morning, his accomplice, little brother Maksimilian Nikolai Rodriguez aka papuccino, was found sleeping off his full tummy.

The two are now on probation for 30 days and are prohibited from going near anymore beefy treats until they've done their time.

The funny thing is, when I first bought those they didn't even give them a second look! I spent like $18 on that bag too:frustrated:

Yesterday I tried giving it to them again, and go figure, they loved it. Like a dummy I left the bag on the counter. Big mistake.

I know it had to be Vlad.

Those things are great though. It's real beef, and you can either give it to them dry like that, or you an soak them in warm water and they get all moist.

But but , what if mice got into the bag and then Vlad just went to check up on it ....

$18.00 for one bag ?

LOL, I suppose that could have happened, but I found little bits of the stuff on his fur.

Yeah, $18, that's why I was pissed when they didn't want it at first. I went to this specialty shop near my job, it's called Dog Bar (http://www.dogbar.com/index.php). They have more stuff online for cats than at the store, but mainly what I get at the store are these little shiny balls with feathers which Oksana loves. But they also sell premium food. They also have prepackaged raw food but only for dogs. Anyway, I was looking for a natural snack for them and saw these. I didn't realize how much they were until the girl rung it up. I was in shock but I kept my face neutral. LOL, I didn't want her to think I was being cheap.

I've since found another place near where I live that sell the EVO food I'm trying to get them to like and some natural snacks like cat/dog beef jerky which they really love and those are only $4.99 per package.

Very entertaining, ancientgirl, Vlad, you have to learn to hide the evidence or deny everything. Oh well, you are still young, lots of time to learn the tricks of the crime trade!

Rats would be a good scapegoat, except I have a feeling Oksana would take care of any rats or mice that come anywhere near here. I remember when I moved in here, I'd see roaches several times a week. Within a month, no more roaches, at least none that were intact. Little Miss cleaned up around here.

He's learning fast too, and so is his accomplice. I have to keep a watch on my food or else it miraculously appears in someone's mouth!

Maybe they just did it so you wouldn't feel bad that they weren't more appreciative when you first bought them. Really! They did it for you!
