New Puppy Is Here!!

After a long week of waiting...lol...we picked up our Newfoundland puppy today. After much debating and research we have named her Tova. She's absolutely gorgeous and the whole family is already head over heels in love with her. (Except maybe for our cat Yum Yum who is probably about ready to pack his bags and leave home...lol) Harley has been awesome with her. Tova is pretty mellow right now, sleeping lots but it was a long day for her and poor Harley has been sharing his toys with her cause he just wants to play. He's so cute.

Her colouring was the first thing that caught our attention. It's certainly not something you see very often. She gets it from her dad, her mom is pure black!

If I could define that dog in one word it would be cuddly! She looks so soft and sweet!

Good Harley letting the new puppy play with your toys. I hope mom gives you some extra lovin' for being such a good boy!:lovestruck: Cause you are a cutie too.
The puppy is adorable. Won't be long before Harley is dwarfed! Newfies are huge!! :eek:

I got a chuckle from your cats name,I had a Cocker once and her name was Yum-Yum,a friends dog in Sweden had that name too.

Tova ... I had a SIL whose name was Tove, same thing but with the e, which is Norwegian actually ... never heard of a Tova in Norway at all, but I haven't heard everything either :D

I'm wondering if maybe it's a more German version? Doesn't matter at all though, this little fluff-ball is adorable regardless of name-origin.

Thank you for all your wonderful comments and welcoming words for Tova. Harley is being so great with her and rest assured that he is getting as much if not more attention than Tova. I know how important it is that he not feel left out. For those who are curious....Tova is actually Hebrew for "good".

At the risk of sounding like I'm bragging, which I am....lol I can't believe how smart Tova is. She already knows her name and almost always comes when you call her. She whines when she needs to go out and now that she is getting used to us and to her new home, she's starting to at least make her way to the back door to go out. We took her into the local pet supply store today, the women who work there knew we were getting her and were anxious to welcome her. Of course everyone oohed and aahed over her and commented on how big she is already....lol. We had to get her Tea Tree Oil puppy shampoo cause she has a bad case of dry, flaky skin. I think it's from the food they were feeding her. I won't name names but you can imagine. We have her on the Wellness puppy food now so hopefully between a better diet and the tree tea oil it'll clear up. She has her first vet appointment next week so we'll get her all checked out.

She is adorable. I can't wait to see pics of this one growing up. I wonder how big she's gonna get. Harley will be able to ride her. :laughing:
