I Have A Boxer With Cropped Ears And People Use Surgical Adhesive Skin Glue (skin Bond) To Keep The Ears Up. I Can't Find It Anywhere. I Live In Durham Region Ontario Canada. HIS EARS ARE CROPPED AND WON'T STAND UP. WE HAVE USED OTHER METHODS, HOWEVER A FEW PEOPLE ARE DOING THE THIS WAY. HE IS 13WEEKS OLD

If the ears are already cropped, you don't need it.

And to be honest,I have never heard of anyone using that stuff..

From the gate..I do not agree with any ear cropping.

That being said....how old is the dog? ( It's a done deal anyway)

If your boxer is still fresh from the surgery, there are other methods to try.

Vetabond is only sold to vet's in the US.

BE THE KIND OF PERSON YOUR DOG THINKS YOUR ARE. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!

I don't like the idea of ear cropping or tail docking. Any mutations made to a dog just because of the owner wanting a stylish dog is cruel.

Its like sticks they put in the ears to make them stand up.

If you dont' know how to make the ears stand yourself, I suggest you take your puppy back to the vet who cropped them, and he/she can wrap them so they will stand.

Ok,I see you added a bit more to your post.

If you have any questions about it,then talk to the licenced breeder you bought him from....They will gladly help you out.

We had a boxer years ago with cropped ears and we had to wrap the ears until they were healed - you had to tape them up - what worked for us was a tampon up the side of the ear (not right in the ear canal) then gauze over the ear (so the tape wouldn't stick to the ear itself) and then medical tape to hold it together - actually I would think that vet wrap would be great for that (we didn't have it back then) - you can get it at TSC in Bowmanville - it is a bandage that sticks to itself and not skin.

Didn't your vet give you instructions for healing?

Oh also - even dogs with cropped ears will not have standing ears all the time - only when they are alert will the ears stand.

Hi Melissa, I live in Ontario too and I found Skin-bond at our local Home-Shoppers which is an extension of shoppers drug mart. It you do not have a home shoppers in your area then your shoppers drug mart should be able to get it for you. Also try the hospitals in your area. Most have pharmacy's and carry the skin bond adhesive.

We are using it on our Boxer pup right how and it works great. Don't give up on getting those ears to stand. It can be a lenghty process but is well worth it in the end. The ears will take at least a few months before they stand well and as long as a year.

Good Luck!

I'm a fan of ALL kinds of ears, floppy or sticky-uppy!!! :D I love Brick's velvety ears...they are sooooooo soft!!! I sit there watching TV rubbing his ears, he loves it!!!! Pet owners ARE a strange bunch, aren't we?? :D :D
