What is the deal with Bathtime?

It seems to me that no matter how old, or what kind EVERY dog goes a little cuckoo after a bath. They race around and bark and run, and jump, and play, and dig and are just all around frisky!

I wonder why that is? I just bathed my Guinness and he went crazy once we had dried him off and set him loose!

Yep.....major zoomies after bath time. All the dogs that we've ever had are the same. :D

Mine rarely get a full blown bath, but butt baths are a more frequent occurance. Sends them into zoomie land every time.

all dogs I have ever had the pleasure of being around - acts like he/she hates the bath part - but loves the running around, scrubbing, rubbing, crazy time after. I think they feel so good they can't stand it!

Yup, I think that's what it is... feels good to be clean, plus trying to get dry. It is fun.

When I was young.. I was taught that dogs run around because they are trying to "run away from the wet".... No idea if it's true... but, they do seem to be running "from" something.....

LOL Harley goes crazy after bathtime. We call it "The Puppy 500". He likes to dry himself off on the living room carpet. It's hilarious to watch.

*laughs* well i have a doubt as to being clean is the reason as 'clean' to a dog is a completely different concept but perhaps its that we just went and matted down and scruffled up all of their fur and it TICKLES!! or they are telling you they WANT to smell like the carpeting and not like oatmeal or roses?? LOL!!
