Dog eating and vomiting grass

I was wondering if anyone had a problem with their dog eating then vomting grass? One of my boys has done so twice today. He is eating regular food as well, and drinking water. Also, he is on prednisone for a back problem, and he's been on it for several months. Should I be intensely worried?

Not too worried. :D Especially if your boy is on pred, which can do odd things to the stomach.

Dogs appear to use grass to clean out their stomachs. If our dogs have a tummy upset, they're very likely to go out and chow down on the most verdant grass they can find, then vomit it up. Spring and Fall, when the weather is changing, also seems to be prime time for 'grass cleansing', even if they're feeling fine.

As long as your dog is behaving normally otherwise, and the vomiting doesn't get too frequent or spread out over more than a couple of days, I wouldn't worry about it. If it gets more frequent, let your vet know and see what he suggests.

Good luck! :fingerscr
