Hello,
I have a friend that has a Bischon Frise/Pug mix who has been diagnosed with kidney stones for the third time. I am sure the cause is the cheap, grain based diet they have been feeding. The vet has recommended Hills S/D as the diet to feed until the problem clears up. I was hoping to get some feed back on other diets that would be suitable for this problem, but have better ingredients then the S/D (Which I am not impressed with at all)
There are several ingredients I am concerned about such as:
Corn Starch, Egg Product, , Pork Liver, Sucrose, Powdered Cellulose, Soybean Oil,
From my research I found that the diet should have greatly reduced levels of magnesium, phosphorus and protein and higher amounts of salt to promote drinking water. Has any one had similar problems, or a "good" food I could recommend?
Thanks
Graham
