Some more things I love about my pets

I know we've had threads like this, but I always find myself with new things to discover about my little ones and what I love about having them around.

Yesterday Vlad got past me and out the door. I panicked, and dropped everything in the hallway and went outside. He didn't run, he just walked to the neighbors door, sniffed it and looked down the hall. I said, "Vlad, come on papi," and he turned and walked right back into the apartment. WHEW! After I shut the door I praised him for listening to me and how he just had a little adventure.

So many times I hear people saying that cats do what they want, they don't listen to their owners, they have no feelings blah blah blah.

When I tell any one of mine not to do something, they know I mean business and they listen to me. I was immensely happy when Vlad calmly turned around and walked back and through the door.

I love that they respect me and I know they love me.

There is always at least one or two following me around where ever I go. Oksana, for being the loner she is, is my shadow. And if she's not in the bathroom keeping me company while I shower, it's Vlad.

I love feeling Maks and Kiska settling in right next to my legs at night, and I love the feeling if any one of them walking on me in the morning.

I love knowing they trust me emphatically. They are at their most vulnerable asleep, yet they all sleep with me in my bed, and now and then one sits on my lap and falls asleep there.

People say, animals don't have feelings, they don't have souls.

I don't believe that and never will, especially when I look into my babies eyes.:lovestruck::cloud9:

I love when Olive chases her tail in the bathtub.
I love when Zelda licks buries herself in my wet hair after a shower.

I'm always surprised by them. There is always something new about them to discover. I sit sometimes and wonder, what if I hadn't found Vlad? What if I'd chosen one of Oksana's siblings and not her? What if I'd never stopped at that vet's office and not seen Maks and Kiska? What if I'd not moved here and never have known Czarina? It's so hard to imagine not having any of them. I was at the right place at the right time, and I'm thank the lord every day for that.:)

I am with you, ancientgirl, my kitties have souls and feelings, all of them! They have more of a soul and more humane feelings than some humans.

I love the way Harley lies down next to you on the bed and allows to be cuddled
I love the way tigger plays with Harley as if he was a dog
And Mickey I am still figuring that out, he always drives me crazy

I love how when I walk in the door...

Zelda stretches her front paws onto my leg as high as she can reach because she wants to be picked up and carried around for a bit.

Olive rolls onto her back at the first sight of me so I can rub her belly.

Kitties definitely have feelings and emotions. Snoopy always runs to the door when he hears anyone coming in, whether he knows you or not. The funny thing is, he doesn't 'meow' but begins this long string of short sounds like he's telling you 'welcome, come in, come in, I'm happy to see you'!!

We often joke and tell people: "This is Carlton the door cat!"

I wholeheartedly agree!!!!!

Shabby, Vlad does the same thing, except he doesn't make noises or anything. Vlad is probably my quietest kitty, he doesn't even purr. He greets everyone who walks in the door.

I love listening to my little ones eat. I know if I ever had to listen to anybody else chew their food I'd grab the first thing next to me and whack then over the head and tell them to be quiet. But I love hearing them eating:D

Aww, thanks! I always enjoy hearing your stories too. I think that's a common theme with people like us here on this forum. These little things, meaningless or annoying to someone else, are so special to us because we love our babies so much.
