Taurine in dog food

I would like to ask about taurine in dog food. Am I wrong ?.....I remebre taurine as a part of human energy drinks. What do they do in dog food? is that good ingrediens?:pawprint:

Although dogs produce their own Taurine, adding it may be beneficial in the case of large breed dogs with a predisposition to DCM (Cardiomyopathy). However the levels that are in foods may not be enough to make a difference, so supplementing addition Taurine may be more effective
