That was a great story.

Although CNN is totally full of BS and is not telling the whole story of what really happens to the American veterans after active duty.

Everyday millions of veterans are effected by a computer coding system (SPN) (SDN) (SPD). Said coded number is used to determine eligibility for benefits, used by large corporations / subsidiaries, insurance companies, banks, state and federal government agencies. This coded number will affect your compensation pension claim with the VA. Because of the frivolous way in which these codes were handed out some veterans have been stigmatized with negative mental health codes that records indicate do not exist. Although it may not have been the intent of Washington DC personnel to harm veterans, it has been the effect.

As a veteran, on your DD-214 is a number that is referred to as a (SPN) (Separation Program Number) code. These code number can affect your life in some very big ways. They may make receiving when benefits coming to you difficult or even impossible to get. They may affect your employment or even hamper your ability to become employed.

They may be denied Veterans Hospital medical care, or denied certain jobs, even if they have "Honorable Discharge" on their papers.

So just knowing that, I highly doubt the statistics that CNN provides. How many did not receive help at all? That's what really needs to be discovered.

And PTSD is a new fancy name for an old problem. In WW1 and WW2, it was called simply "shell shock." Back then they didn't get pills, and now many people are over medicated.

More dogs should be allowed the chance to help heal or at least bring comfort and grounding to those poor people that have seen the worst of humanity.
