Just saw an update on Michael Vick's Pit Bulls.

I'm sure everyone knows about the dogfighting ring run by NFL player Michael Vick. I'm also sure most everyone would agree when I say hearing about these kinds of things make me literally sick to my stomach to hear about. Now although because of his choices of how he treated animals my opinion places somewhere between the dentist and pond scum. His admission of guilt and his "turning of a new leaf" he vowed to pay for the care and rehab of all the animals seized from his compound, the rescuable animals are currently being rehabilitated and some are even being fostered in the hopes of one day being deemed adoptable. I know what he did was disgusting, but my rant is about the dogs. Through this horrible tragedy people (no credit should be given to Vick) are proving that dogs namely Pit Bulls (and "bad" ones at that) can be loved into being good dogs. I just had to share this because it gave me a "warm feeling inside". Anyway her is the link to the complete story.
Enjoy

It's so wonderful to hear that these dogs weren't just discarded or automatically deemed unadoptable. Here in Miami they are illegal as well, yet you go over a few counties and you can have one as a pet.

It's terrible that any one breed has to pay for the irresponsibility of humans.

It's even one breed though...it's a whole slew of "bully" breeds.

Thanks for the update! I just love the pitbulls. In BC they are allowed here and make up a large percentage of the dogs in shelters. I volunteer in a shelter and have seen neglected/abused pitbulls that should hate humans but instead they don't have a mean bone in their bodies. They are my favourite breed. I really don't know what could have made Michael Vick hate dogs so much. Hopefully they throw away the key and he never gets out.
