I just want to introduce you guys to Thumper....and he thumps...all the time:wall:...does anyone who have had a rabbit know if this is a sign for something....any info appreciated. I am now surfing the net on everything I should know about bunnies. He is a foster so I'm not sure how long he will be our guest...but I must say its been interesting

Cpetria, this is great! Did you also foster the rabbit from Kathleen? Jjorgi and Waster of Paint also fostered.
The best person to ask is Kathleen the head of the Montreal Rabbit Rescue. Do you have her email address?

If you put a small litter box with wood shavings (not cedar) they will use it no problem. We give Daisy any greens, carrots, apples and bananas. Not to give too much sweet though as Rabbits have a sweet tooth and eat too much of it. Good luck with you foster Thumper.

Yes, poodletalk, I am fostering from Kathleen. Wonderful person and I can't wait to learn more. My cats are having an interesting first encounter....:D...Nickie wants to touch...way too much. Almost like Sylvester vs. Tweety bird..I think my first order of busness is teaching this little critter to use the litter box:fingerscr hope it works

Cpietra, and to all those new bunny-fosters, rabbits get the "zoomies" just like dogs and cats :D. Really, they do! When my brother and I were kids, we used to try to save all the bunnies at the local small animal butcher (ppl actually chose their live rabbits and chickens for dinner ). We used our allowance money to buy one rabbit each every week and brought them to our farm. As naive as we were, we didn't realize that the store just replaced the animals that were bought :o .
Anyhow, getting back on topic, we had large pens in the barn that we kept them in and our bunnies always got the zoomies. If you can, try to let the rabbit have free run of a room several times a day (might be a good idea to keep a watchful eye on the kitties though :D ).

Awwww Thumper is just beautiful:lovestruck:
We lived down the street from a rabbit farm and the farmer told us they thumped when they are upset, scared, or unsure of something. They all would thump when a stranger came into the barn, it was really loud.

Thumper is gorgeous, cpietra! I've never seen a bunny with markings like that! :lovestruck:
I've seen wild bunnies thump when startled, too.
