"Going like a German Shepherd" -- is this quantity of feces? It isn't bad unless its diarrhea. Feces should be evacuated from the bowels somewhat quickly rather than staying in the intestinal tract too long. If he's going in large quantities, it's not an indicator of bad food. The old saying "better out than in" makes sense. Never heard of duck causing gas but duck is a rich bird.

You could try Natural Balance's Ultra Premium (http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/dogformulas/UltDog.html) or Natural Balance Organic Formula (http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/dogformulas/Organic.html) instead of the Sweet Potato & Fish. It sounds like he/she may have a problem with salmon meal and/or salmon oil. Not all dogs can stomach all formulas. It's not Natural Balance, it's maybe the ingredients in the formula. Mine is on NB Organic and NB Vegetarian... it works well.

I was talking about quantity unusual amount and wet. Anyway we switched to Natural Balance Duck and potatoe (certinly smells better than the fish!) So far so good but Ive read that the duck is so high in protein some dogs have problems with it....still hunting:shrug:

how long was the dog on this food? Sometimes it takes awhile for a dog to adjust to new food, after which they are fine... if you think the dog has a food allergy you could try only feeding a single protein source to find out. Wellness brand has foods like this: http://www.omhpet.com/wellness/dog_wellness_simple_food_solutions_index.html
