Hello! Introducing the Crew...

Hello all! I live in the middle of Iowa with my three dogs - two red Dobermans and a red and white Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I myself am one semester away from graduating college, with a 4-year degree in Graphic Design. I also have a (totally useless) minor in Religious Studies. I am a member of the Doberman Pinscher Club of America and have been showing dogs for.... oh, about 8-9 years. Started out showing a friend's corgis, then got my own dobes and have been hooked on them since!

My oldest: Ilsa. She'll be 6 years old next month. Show dog washout, she was a borderline prospect but as she matured we realized that she just wasn't good enough to cut it in the American dobe ring. That's okay though, she's still Top Dog in this house... a real queen bee!

Next is Ronin, my 4 year old male. I got him at 18 months - I was looking for a show prospect, but I'm a sucker for the guys that need help so Ronin was extra special - not only was he show quality, but he'd been mistreated in his previous show home and was looking for someone who would give him a lot of TLC as well as a second chance at life. We've been able to get his CGC, as well as point him in AKC owner-handled, but it's become apparent that his previous home had permanently scarred him in ways even I can't fix completely, so he's being retired from AKC showing. We're moving on to UKC and IABCA to get some "fun titles" on him and to let him keep showing, as he really does enjoy it.

Last but not least, Ada the corgi. She's 15 months old and a holy terror... as any good corgi is! She's primarily a pet and companion to my fiance, who has always loved corgis - Ada is his dream come true, he's always wanted his own Corgi and we were in the position to get another dog... so along came Ada!

We're glad to be here, and look forward to "meeting" everyone and making new friends!

Ada is adorable, that second picture says it all. And your dobies are beautiful. I've always thought that a dobie running flat out is one of the wonders of the universe. Welcome!

Dobermans are double suspension gallopers, which makes a flat-out run their "natural" speed. IMO there's nothing more breathtaking than a double-suspention galloper zooming across the landscape!

My favourite pic has to be the one of Ilsa "flying" above the water :angel2:! And Ada is such a cutie :lovestruck: Don't get me wrong, Ronin's a charmer too :thumbs up

Thanks! Sarah, do you have corgis? I think I can see some little faerie steeds in your avatar... ;)

Ada is a neat dog, she's very active and keeps up with the dobes. She basically thinks she's a Doberman with stubby legs!

No corgie ... they are on my wish list though, always have been. The tailed version! :D although the other is cute too.

We have ... in order of appearance in the family ...

Dani - Duck Toller X ? +/- 3 years old
Sheba - Golden +/- 10-12 years old
Misti - cat, black, long hair 18 months
Spoutnik - terror ... I mean, cat, white w/black, long hair 3 months

All rescues! Heart and house is not full, but city by-law quota is.

Ahhhhh so you're a Cardi fan? :D I've got cardis on my "To Get" list too... but my fiance is used to dogs of the stubbybutt variety, so I'm still trying to win him over. He's horrified that I'm getting an au naturale Doberman in the next decade... eesh.

But I'll win on the issue of tails... I always do... ;)

Thank you BusterBoo! it's funny, I can see the evolution of my cameras... some of those photos are from my old Kodak point-and-shoot, some are from my newer Canon point-and-shoot, and the newest are from my Canon Rebel single lens reflex... gotta love technology!

Welcome to the board, sizzledog. I'm glad you found us--looking forward to tales of your trio! :D

I'll have to come back to see the pics of your crew--modem froze half-way down your dobie's ears  The lines out here are awful. :frustrated:
