You are asking for a lot of information. Have you had a dog before?
Are you taking part of this training as a family endeavor?
If you're young (assuming so since u have a two yr old sister) then maybe you can discuss this board with your parents and as a family you can come ask specific questions.
I would hate to give you advise that is going against some sort of training your parents are doing with the pup that may be very good and working. Too much different information at this time will confuse the puppy.
What you need to do more then anything at this time is take the puppy outside a LOT!! Keep puppy on a leash and go to an area of your yard where you want puppy to use as the washroom area as soon as you get outside.
When puppy goes outside you praise the pup with a happy voice and lots of loving pats and cuddles.
You can play AFTER puppy pee's / poo's :D
So, introduce us to the puppy we would LOVE to see pictures and bring your family on with you ... more the merrier!

A teacher friend of mine researched alot to find a dog for her son who desperately wanted one. She finally chose a beagle and they were great together. When the kid got too much for the dog, the dog would sit on the kid's back so he couldn't get up. :D Cute together.
My dog was easy to housebreak with a fenced yard and a doggie door. Whenever he had just awakened or after eating, I would put him in a small area in my laundry area near the kitchen. The only escape was the doggie door. He wouldn't soil his area, using the doggie door to go out. He only had 4 accidents in the house and I could completely trust him by the time he was 12 weeks. It was Spring and nice outside. My mother's dog, on the other hand was a late Fall puppy and took longer. A lot of praise when they go outside is important.
