I am wondering what else I can give my guinea pigs to make their diet more exciting, besides carrots, apples, lettuce, grass when available, pellets and hay.
Thanks, Amron

Orange wedges are good as they are packed with vitamin C which piggies need a lot of, they will clean them up right down to the rinde. Stay away from lettuce as it can make them ill.

Here is a site with things to feed and not to feed(it's in paragraph form so have to skim through it)

http://www.spca.bc.ca/AnimalCare/guineapigcare.asp

also wash everything really well first to remove any pestesides.

I buy the large plastic container of fresh "spring" salade mix for my "grand"guinea pigs, ok so I don't have grandchildren yet *L* but it's great for them, and no lettuce is in the mix, dandelion leaves, spinach etc. so handy because it's all in one container, you can buy honeysticks for them at pet food stores also, they love calcium blocks, and don't forget woood, they do have to shave down their teeth just like other rodents, pine blocks are great, and you can buy flavored wood for them.

Thanks to the three people who replied when I asked what else I could include in the g.p.'s diets.

I would be a little stingy with the amount of oranges you feed your piggies as they are highly acidic.

Oranges segments are great. tasty and healthy. I love GP. Aren't they affectionate and sweet? Do you have pics posted of your pigs?
