I hope you consider getting your puppy a playmate! There are so many dogs at shelters...I'm sure she wouldn't care if her buddy was a purebred or a mutt!!!

Maggie sure is a little cutie!

At some point, we were all first time dog owners. We all live and learn. This site should be able to help you out a ton with housebreaking, simple commands and the like.

My best advice - find some kind of training class for the two of you. A lot of times groomers know trainers, so try asking your local groomer or your vet.

Sorry - but while I wholeheartedly agree with the wonderful idea of adopting from a shelter - the very last thing that a first time puppy owner needs is 2 puppies!!

Concentrate on getting through the first couple of years with Maggie - training, socializing, etc. before thinking of adding another to the mix.
