"Mommy's getting tired of seeing snowballs on my feet and is worried about that darned salt, so look what she's gone and done to me!"
"I'm really not happy about this."
"I mean, common, look how I have to walk in these. Mommy gets a good laugh out of it. She said I looked like Bambi on ice."
"But, once she starts chasing me around all's well."
"I really need to stop looking directly into the camera when my picture's taken, mom's photo editing program is not very good with the red eye."

too cute! I would never get mine to walk anywhere with booties on!
January 3rd, 2008, 07:03 PM
Well, we haven't actually been out with them on yet. :o
January 3rd, 2008, 07:03 PM
Hey, those look pretty good!
January 3rd, 2008, 07:07 PM
Yeah, they were only $25 at PetValu. They have a zipper to help put them on. We'll see how long they last.

I've never seen booties for dogs ever, until this year. But then, I really never had any reason to go into a pet store until I got my first kitty.
Are these things new for dogs? They're a really great idea. I remember when I lived up north, I'd see people walking their dogs in the winter and always feel bad about those poor dogs and how cold their feet must be.
January 3rd, 2008, 07:22 PM
No, they're not new, but have kind of been stereotyped as a 'small dog only' kind of thing. I don't think they'd really keep the feet all that warm, but do protect against those nasty snowballs and salt burn.
January 3rd, 2008, 08:01 PM
Ah, I see. No, they don't look like they are very warm, but if they at least keep their feet dry and protected, that's good. I don't think I could ever get those on any of my kitties:D
January 3rd, 2008, 08:38 PM
 I can't imagine them on kitties.
Yeah, I think it's more embarrasing to have to stop walking every few minutes to pick snowballs out of your dog's feet than to walk a dog wearing booties.
January 3rd, 2008, 09:28 PM
Too cool - but no purple booties??????????? :D
January 3rd, 2008, 09:45 PM
Just too darned embarassing for my friends to see me this way.
But I agree, the balls and salt make the booties worthwhile.
So cute. And such a pretty baby.:cloud9:

She doesn't seem to mind that much. What a good girl....
January 5th, 2008, 01:04 PM
Yeah, they have purple, but only for extra small doggies.
She minds, she just shows her discontent in different ways than most other dogs. For example, if I'm doing something to her she hates, like putting nasty booties on or brushing her bum, she won't bite instead she'll be really annoying by constantly licking or trying to hug me. She doesn't like it and wants me to stop so she does anything in her power to make it stop... other than that nasty thing called biting.

Nice ones :thumbs up especially w/the reflectors on the front - great for late night walk w/darker coloured dogs :highfive:
January 6th, 2008, 12:04 AM
All she needs is a matching coat. :D
January 6th, 2008, 12:10 AM
Of course she does :thumbs up...... so does Byrd  but we won't insist you get a harness & leash to match Willow :p
January 6th, 2008, 09:28 AM
she won't bite instead she'll be really annoying by constantly licking or trying to hug me.
She could get annoyed with me anytime :cloud9:
The boots are too cute , did she get used to them ?
January 6th, 2008, 09:48 AM
Here's Willow's fleecy (still can't bring myself to call it a coat):
My winter coat is *ahem* purple. :o (Took this pic to show hubby 1) that I'm wearing the scarf he bought me. 2) How bad it was snowing, I think that was last March)
I like the reflectors too, one of the selling points.
Frenchy, you can come over and brush her bum anytime, you'd get lots of annoying hugs and kisses for that. :dog: "Pleeeease stop. Look, I'll love you to death if you'd just stop!"
January 6th, 2008, 09:59 AM
Very fashionable, Willow! :thumbs up And they match your fleecy! :D
She doesn't seem to mind the coat at all...and she'll come around to the booties, too.
Booties have been around a long time for bigger dogs, too--only you have to look in hunting and mushing catalogues to find them!
January 6th, 2008, 10:06 AM
She doesn't wear her fleecy on walks, it's only for car rides just incase mommy needs to run into a store or if (heaven forbid) we broke down, it's more of a precaution than a necessity. Not only that but I got it for $6!!!
She's used to things on her back, but not on her front feet (we only have to wrap her back wheels for flyball), it will just take some getting used to.
January 6th, 2008, 02:21 PM
Okay, I put them on and we headed out. I just took her up the street then back to get her used to them. They are noisy, she sounds like a horse clip clopping along, and walked really slooooow. I couldn't stop giggling. I even had a lady stop her car to comment on how "I like his boots!". :o We came back home and I took them off then we went for a normal walk. They will be good for those bad salty and snowball kinda days though, at least I know that she will walk in them.
January 6th, 2008, 11:28 PM
Way to go Willow - good grrl :thumbs up
 Cally used to make the horse-clopping sounds in his boots too.....really really funny when you run with them
January 7th, 2008, 06:38 PM
 Running would be funny, we just walked to get her used to them.
