Dog has cloudy spot on eye. What is this?

My dog is a 2 and a half year old boxer. I have just recently noticed a small, round cloudy spot on her right eye. It is a light grey/white colour. Isn't she too young to show signs of cataracts? Or what else could this be?
Thank you

A juvenile cataract is a possibility, but another possibility is corneal dystrophy which is a known condition that can affect boxers. A vet, or even better, a veterinary opthalmologist could best diagnose this.

I agree with satchelp. You definitely need to get that checked out asap. We have one hard and fast rule here--we don't mess with eyes. Eye sight is too precious to risk.

Good luck with your boxer! Let us know what the vet says!

What food are you feeding her? Is it high in fat content? My boy, Hogan, lab X blue heeler, developed fatty deposits in his eyes at a young age. They looked like someone lightly sandpapered his eyeballs (for lack of a better description). My other dog was on the same food but had no eye problems. He went to an eye specialist and all I had to do was switch his food to a lower fat content. If this is the problem, it will improve very slowly because all our cells are continuously being replaced. It never has totally gone away though.

Anyway, good luck and I agree, she needs to see a vet to get diagnosed properly.
