I love snow storms. We're supposed to get up to 30cm in the GTA, woo hoo!! I'm on the top floor of my apartment building, I can see for many kilometers on a clear day. Right now I can't see past the parking lot. It's coming down pretty good.

I've been at work since 6:30 this morning. Driving in through the storm wasn't fun. Today's continuing onslaught of calls is not fun. I wish I was at home. Seriously.

Man, I got up to pee at 7:30am... and nothing... then got up again for good at 10am... and holy carp! Blizzard!:frustrated: I have nowhere to go today so I'll just shovel a couple times and start the car up... and then come back in to snuggle kitties and drink hot chocolate I think. http://78.110.163.75/~markcook/imgs/smile/characters/character0080.gif (http://www.videowhip.co.uk)

My dad will probably be out showing up the snow blower guys all day today! At almost 65, he takes great pride in being able to finish his driveway with a scoop before the guys half his age with their fancy snowblowers!:laughing:

Food for him!!! :thumbs up

I was supposed to go to my mom's to do the Christmas baking today, guess I'm not going. She called and said not to come... lol I live about 10 minutes away. But, I live in a basement apartment so I can't keep a watch on the weather. Mom knows best I guess.

I'm gonna get some outside pics as well. They've downgraded us from 30cm to 20cm though. Shoot I want eight feet!!!!

:censored: no pics outside today for SURE, I ain't going out in THAT  and with that wind, I don't even want to go shovel the steps clean. They can wait till tomorrow. Besides, the blower-guy will come with his tractor and machine tomorrow and blow everything from the parking lot onto the steps so I have to start over :yell: may as well wait

Dani ran around the pool and didn't care too much, Sheba only wnt half way around and took a dump on three legs  holding one front paw up to keep it out of the cold snow, too funny!

Poor squirrels for sure, poor birdies, and poor Snowcap!! I hope he's ok still :pray:

I can hear Willow : yiiiiiiippppppeeeee !

The goldens don't really mind but Nelly , when I first opened the door earlier , she looked outside and turned around saying no way she was going out in this  I had to tell her to go pee , and that went pretty quickly  Ben just walks around the yard , snow up to his belly , in no hurry to come back inside.

Byrd
December 16th, 2007, 12:29 PM
Yeah, she enjoys it alright! I hate winter, but I enjoy going out and playing in the snow with her.

Oh, and I know it looks bad that the gate's open, but we're only fenced in on three sides anyway, and there were absolutely no vehicles on the road today.

We've got about a foot on the ground here, two or more times that where it's drifting. Puppies love it. Hubby not so much  Still snowing pretty good here. The wind is awful.
Can't take any pics right now, hubby is out with the snowblower, so I'm inside with the boys until he's done. Birds are hitting the feeders hard. I've filled up all 4 twice today so far. They're empty again now, so as soon as he's done I'll have to refill again.

Wow, I just let Willow out and about two more inches have fallen since last time we were out.

Does anyone else find it odd to have snow before Christmas?

BusterBoo
December 16th, 2007, 03:29 PM
Ottawa is getting it too! This picture was taken about 2 hours ago and it hasn't slowed down any! Hubby is outside snowblowing and he will need to do it again later tonight  He says he "enjoys" it but I think this is pushing it a little too far!

I have spoken with my Dad (age 83) and he PROMISED me he wouldn't go out today and clear his laneway. He keeps reminding me he has many years experience from living in Winnipeg (aka Winterpeg!).

I think tomorrow will be a "snowday" from work (and I just got back from Mexico on Friday!!)

Man am I ever glad that I didn't wait to shovel, the wind has really picked up here just in the last 1/2 hour!!! It looks COOOOLD and nasty now. I've already had my nice warm shower and hubby called for a ride, but I had to tell him to bring in the big truck cause they haven't even sanded or anything here, and I watched a couple cars get stuck and sliding sideways while I was shovelling so I am not venturing out till tomorrow! He can go anywhere in his big beast, and pack down the driveway at the end too!

Here it is supposed to be done late tonight/early tomorrow, temp drop again and then no more snow... and up to 37 or so thursday so it'll be melty by then!

I love the weather channel online... it's right like 99.9% of the time!

CearaQC
December 16th, 2007, 04:05 PM
WOW Breeze! That's some nasty :censored: wind !!

Love the pics of Bree,Willow and Busterboo,my cats are just tooo dainty:laughing:
Rocky went out,got snowed on and made a 360 for the patiodoor:laughing:
We are not using the snowblower before tomorrow morning,no use right now.
Frenchy, the Squirrels were definetly not happy,I have a box where I feed them peanuts and one stayed in there for a long time:laughing:
My birdfeeders had snow in them,I don't know how that happened, but as soon as they were cleaned and filled, about 30 Pigeons came...poor birds, poor Squirrels, poor kitties and pups who don't have a warm home:sad:

Everytime I open the patio doors to let the dogs out, I have to shovel by the door.... inside the house   . The wind blows the snow right in.

Looks like New Brunswick and Nova Scotia are getting the worst of it right about now http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/satellite/animateweb_e.html?imagetype=satellite&imagename=goes_ecan_1070_m_..................jpg&nbimages=1&clf=1
