Check your lightbulbs....
It seems that some of the new CF light bulbs can cause fires and are worse than the old light bulbs.
Something to consider when buying the new light bulbs. It would appear that these are the ones marketed by Canadian Tire, but I'm sure others sell them as well.

Great find! Thanks for posting.
CFLs are great for saving energy but they contain mercury.
Try not to break a CFL bulb if at all possible and follow correct clean up guidelines - do not use a vacuum, which might spread mercury beyond the room where the bulb broke.

how great is that.
you try to save energy and the enviroment, then you have to deal with hazardous waste after:rolleyes:
so what hurts the enviroment more?
using regular bulbs and more energy or
using cfl bulbs and increasing imissions from my burning house:rolleyes:

Ceara, thanks for posting that article. :thumbs up ...... I didn't know that about the CFLs and have been just putting them out with the garbage.
WHY isn't this information made more public? :frustrated: And, why aren't there places to drop them off?
I am going to email the article to everyone I know to help get the word out. And, will also email it to my MP and MLA. Perhaps, if enough people complain, something will be done. :fingerscr
