CearaQC December 6th, 2007, 07:48 AM Are they doing anything in Halifax today or just talking about it on radio and CTV? I love Halifax...was only there once and we stopped and asked a guy wearing a kilt what he had on underneath. Riluke December 6th, 2007, 10:30 AM Yes we do have several memorial servcies: 8:45 a.m.: Ceremony to honour those who died at a Mi’kmaq settlement at Tufts Cove. Gathering at Shannon Park Elementary School parking lot. 8:50 a.m.: Fort Needham Park. A ceremony will be held and memorial bells will be rung at 9:06 a.m., the exact moment that much of the city’s north end was flattened 95 years ago. 1:30 p.m.: Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Children from St. Patrick’s-Alexandra Jr. High in Halifax will tour the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic with players from the Halifax Rainmen basketball team. 7 p.m.: Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Halifax Explosion: A Tribute in Song and Word It is also a tradition that we send a Christmas tree to the City of Boston every year in thanks/rememberance of their assistance to us. Apparently there are very specific requirements as to the kind of tree, the size..etc. It has to be 'perfect'. FYI - a True Scotsman doesn't wear anything under his kilt :) | ||||
