*FOUND* German Shepherd Puppy in Orleans, ON

December 6th, 2007, 12:49 AM
Hi everyone, first off I just want to tell you I think this is a wonderful site.

Anyway, someone came into our clinic today with a lost German Shepherd puppy, about 2 months old...we're not sure if he/she's pure or mixed. I'm not going to say if it's male or female for the obvious reason(s). Very sweet, snuggly puppy! I'm in Orleans and if anyone knows of a lost pup, please email me. I'm fostering him for 10 days, but have a Doberman and 3 cats. He/she pretty much ignores the cat but is tormenting my dog, lol!

I've taken some pictures and will try to download them later as my camera isn't working properly but here's what the puppy looks like, except the ears aren't folded that far down...

Thank God someone had the sense to bring him to you! The poor baby would freeze to death with the nights we have been getting in Ottawa!

Hope he/she finds their owners soon...

Could someone really just dump a little puppy like that in the middle of winter?Bad enough in summer, but now it`s even more cruel  poor little mite

If the "owner" doesn't turn up, :fingerscr someone comes to give hem a home!

("hem" being a mix of her and him, :D )

He's VERY food aggressive so we've been feeding our dog separately. He would obviously have to go to a home where he's the only dog. Didn't get a wink of sleep all night, :P He's a cutie though!

And we have our legal quota of dogs already :yell:

You could try

Seems they only have two available for adoption too, a 1-year old and a 6-year old, so your little guy won't have too much competition!

GSRT takes in dogs from shelters that are going to be put down, seeing that this little one is in a temp home already they may not have a spot for this little fella altho they would like to take them all dogs that are in danger of being PTS take proirity

Thanks for all the information! You've been really helpful and I'm definitely going to check out those sites and contact them.

I had to bring the little guy back to our clinic (where he is getting lots of TLC). Both he (yes it's a boy) and our dog are both very dominant and there was a lot of fighting. Plus we have three cats. Both myself and another woman I work with are doing everything to place this guy (we've named him Joey). One of the doctors who has a Shepherd was dealing with his dominance issue today and making a bit of progress. He did bite my husband while eating so there's going to have to be a no children note on his file.

Here are some updated pictures of him. Now, we're not really sure about him being dumped as he recently had his claws clipped, he's great in the car and he's pretty good with cats. Wish us luck finding a home and thanks again for being so helpful.

On a side note, I have been reading a lot of your posts and hope you can find your beloved pets soon ((HUGS))

Hi Haven't posted in awhile but this caught my eye and wondering if Sheryl needs someone to foster or adopt this little GSD puppy. As you may not know I am a shepherd owner and now have a four year old female and two that have passed to the bridge. I can have recommendations from our vet as well as our breeder as our female is a purebred. Please email me if possible at or through this board. Thank you

Hi Everyone Just an update on Harry as we have all called him. Unfortunately he cannot stay with me and has to be returned. My female is not accepting him and at such a young age this is not fair to him. It is very upseting to me to have to do this as we have fallen in love with him. We do hope that with everyones prayers he will find a forever home soon.

January 27th, 2008, 11:40 AM
Here's an update for everyone...

Hoodoo (as he is now called) was taken in by one of the vets at the clinic I work at...he was flown to B.C. a couple of weeks ago to his forever home. The couple who have him are in the vet's will as the people her dog will go to in case something happens.

Here are some pictures for you

before leaving for BC with dr's dog

in his new home (he loves the cat btw)

his funny ears

what a cutie!

Wow how'd ya arrange that one a flight and all. I hope they're gonna neuter him, can you make sure of that.. did you happen to get them to sign a contract to state he'd be neutered and not used for breeding.

He's got huge paws and he's gonna be a BIG BOY! :thumbs up

January 27th, 2008, 04:14 PM
WOO HOO for Hoodoo :highfive:

I am so glad to hear that he found a forever home. :thumbs up He is such a handsome boy. :lovestruck:

No worries about breeding him...that was stipulated by the doctor before sending him out and of course, they agreed.

I would also like to thank BLB because without the extra time at her place he might not be where he is now. Seriously, thank you so much and I was there when she brought him back and my heart broke to see her so upset that she couldn't keep him. He certainly was a handful - I kept him one night and it was a night of he** since I'm not a shepherd owner. He's a very in-your-face kind of dog...but also soooooo sweet. The Dr. said he had no trouble on the plane and when the new owners got him, he walked out of that crate and into the airport like he owned it.

I'll keep you updated with more pics soon!

Hi there. Does the pup have a tatoo in his ear or anywhere else? Maybe he is micro-chipped??

I was wondering the same thing. Were flyers put up in places so people could see???Were other vets contacted? The HS??

Just seems like this pup was found then placed in a home:shrug:

He is gorgeous..But then I'm biased with this breed....:D

Hi Everyone I was the person that got this puppy first from the Vet where he was turned in. I can tell you that the Vets office and Sheryl did everything to find this puppys original owner and no one ever came forward. Also I know that Dr. Nat would not allow this puppy to be adopted without a very good check of the adopter and the stipulation that he was to be neutered. Harry as he was known to us has been adopted by great people and they are keepng me up to date and I'm the third party what does that say about these people. I would like to thank Sheryl and Dr. Nat for their caring when I had to bring him back it broke my heart but I believe he is in a great place.
