Funny you should mention a dog getting lost - today Bobby did just that! I was fit to be tied - he found a carcass and was munching his little heart out -but, generally, no - the dogs do not run off and get lost. Two of the dogs are trained as "leaders" and the others follow them. They do run into the forest but they also come back - as a pack - when called. Interesting to watch because there are often different dogs out on the walk. A dog did run off once but was found and returned. It was a dog with problems for sure... New dogs are on a long leash until they learn the rules of the walks.
