i got Maggies collar last Friday finally.. to have to call petsmart cuz they screwed up on it.. red writing on pink collar.. the web site only offers the collar with black or white writing on it.. so the credited me for there mistake plus the new rush shipping charge too.. I ordered the collar so it would be here before we go to Las Vegas for a week.. we are leaving this Sunday.. well it showed up few hours ago.. and well how do they make the same mistake TWICE!!!!!!!:wall:

heres a pic of the 2 collars.. (i covered up last part of my phone number)

and i had to add this pic of Maggie.. i think she is saying please don't take this pic of me with this diaper on.:p. (still have not heard back from the shelter yet. about their mistake and her not beaning fixed but it was only Sunday when she was confirmed in heat:mad: )

(no clue how to get it over the border:loser:). and some of the American sites the collars are still more expensive in Canadian Dollars despite our dollar beaning higher...

Maggie, you look like you could use a hug :grouphug:

I know my vet has collars like that you can order... i'll see if I can find the company name (I think I wrote it down once).....

Gee, those petsmart folks sure are brilliant!:loser:

Here's a couple I found on-line...
http://www.k-9collars.com
http://www.dogownersworld.com/

try searching "embroidered dog collars" or "personalized dog collars"

You can definitely order from LLBean (www.llbean.com) - it's a US company but they definitely deliver to Canada no problem and have reasonable prices. I've ordered from them (not a dog collar but other stuff)

Cabelas (www.cabelas.com) also has them - but not many colours. Another US company that will ship to Canada no problem.

and LLBean has free shipping (even to Canada!)!! Collars are about $16 us. That would be the one i'd recommend :thumbs up

i remember the Cabelas site i got distracted and lost on it looking at GPS collars:D i thought it was a good idea if i decide to let hubby take her bird hunting with him... (when she is older)

I got this made for my golden while the Sasha's Den Rescue fund raiser was going on, I ordered it online, but it was more then $20, ordered from the Funny Farm Boutique. http://www.funnyfarmboutique.ca/ This company is Canadian, and I dealt directly with the owner as it was custom made, she went beyond helping me, it was a really good experience, very good quality. it's a martindale collar, which we still use for training.

I honestly think you get what you pay for. My dog is large and strong, I wouldn't trust a $20 collor on her, especially if it's her every day one. She's rough and tumble too, so that's just my opinion. The one I got is stronge and very durable, and very nice. Dazy hasn't seen it yet, Santa's bringing it...

I LOVE IT!

that is a nice looking collar i love the Ford Symbol on it. i understand why it is there i love it love it love it!!! (but then i love cars mostly race cars). with Maggie i will still be using her other collar on her when we can go for long walks again. (in heat still and she dosent want to stay outside long any way right now too cold for her). i wanted the one with her name and number on it as a precaution.. it makes it easier for some one to call the number on it rather then call the town hall if open to get a number from the licenses or a shelter to check for a chip..

may look odd but for walks and stuff she will be wearing 2 collars.. but after the Las Vegas trip i have decided to go with the buckle collar site but not going to reorder till after christmas.. i spent too much money in Vegas shopping had to buy a new suit case!!!!!

and i think Maggie was more excited to see us home then the 3 kids!!!! i almost picked her up a new doggie coat but did not have her size.. so she got rope instead..

I would just be careful about the type of buckle on the collars - after a few years of wear the buckle may not hold properly.

A few years back I had a simple one stick buckle collar on :rip::dog:Cally one he had worn for years, one day I had the front door open, my hand holding him by the collar - he walked forward not pulling at all & the collar came undone in my hand - good thing there were no other dogs around since he was a bit dog-aggressive. After that he had a solid slip-on collar that fit properly but could be slipped off when neccesary - but he couldn't get it off himself. :)

tee hee between you and Ford Girl and the collars at this site and the one she has for Ford.. it gave me an idea.. will probable cost me a lot more in the end but it will be worth it... but i am going to wait a few months before getting her a new one she can wear one of the screw ups for now.. maybe i can find one that has the Nascar logo on it for a back ground.. humm wonder if i can get her a coat with it on it too.. then we can go out matching for our walks...:laughing::laughing::laughing:
