Great news for dog owners in Kingston Ontario:

KINGSTON IS GOING TO THE DOGS.
CITY COUNCIL HAS LAUNCHED A PILOT PROJECT TO ALLOW DOGS TO RUN FREE IN FENCED OFF SECTIONS OF 5 PARKS.
A ONE-ACRE SECTION OF LAKE ONTARIO PARK WAS A LATE ADDITION TO THE LIST.
OFF-LEASH AREAS WILL ALSO BE SET UP IN SUTHERLAND DRIVE PARK, EAST OF MONTREAL STREET.
ALSO, IN THE MEADOW AREA OF GRASS CREEK PARK -- THE SAME PLACE WHERE THE SHEEP DOG TRIALS ARE HELD.
THE TRACK BEHIND THE KINGSTON MEMORIAL CENTRE IS ALSO ON THE LIST.
AND SO IS MEADOWBROOK PARK, BEHIND THE FRONTENAC MALL.
THERE WILL BE SIGNS AND FENCING IN MOST OF THOSE PARKS, WITHIN THE NEXT 6 WEEKS.
END VO
THE PILOT PROJECT WILL BE REVIEWED IN THE SPRING...TO DETERMINE IF THOSE LOCATIONS WILL REMAIN PLACES WHERE DOGS CAN RUN FREE.
