Poll: Which Shoes?

October 8th, 2007, 09:07 PM
Okay, so you've seen the dress: (

Now I need to decide which shoes go with it, I have three options. Please keep in mind that my toenails will be painted kind of a neutral/brown colour and I will have nylons and an ankle bracelet on, so the flyball scars won't show.

October 8th, 2007, 09:12 PM
Pair #1 I just found in my closet, forgot I had them. They are casual, but comfy, no ankle strap though so if I have to run for a cab or something I may lose one. ( (

October 8th, 2007, 09:13 PM
I don't see any shoes:shrug:

Opppppsss sorry I guess I posted to soon! I see shoes now!

October 8th, 2007, 09:17 PM
Pair #2 Borrowed from my niece-in-law (yeah, that's right my nephew's wife). Sexy, comfy, but I'm not sure if it's too much for Egypt. ( (

October 8th, 2007, 09:22 PM
Pair #3 These are my old trusty shoes, I bought these many moons ago and have worn them everywhere! Only problem with them now is that they are just a wee bit too tight. ( (

Okay, poll's open now.... happycats.... ;)

October 8th, 2007, 09:26 PM
LOL so sorry:o

I pick #2 2 2 2 I really like #2:D

October 8th, 2007, 09:29 PM
nope nope nope.. I pick............ drum roll please remember this is coming from a person how never wear anything but runners or nothing...
number 3 but if you want comfort go barefoot.. :D sorry I wore ballet slippers to my wedding.

guess I'm no help:sad:sorry

October 8th, 2007, 09:29 PM
I also think pair #2 works best w/the dress :thumbs up

October 8th, 2007, 09:42 PM
Wear crocks !!!!

Ok so I like the 2 better but voted number 1 because they look more comfy.

October 8th, 2007, 10:22 PM
I voted for number 2 also. It's your wedding day !! These are a little more glam !! You made a great choice on the dress so you'll get to wear it again and you can wear pair number 1 on another occasion.

Not only that, but the second pair look more comfy to me since they actually fasten around the ankle and the heel isn't awfully high either. (The third pair is too "heavy duty" for the dress IMO. They don't match.)

I'm another one who wore ballet slippers for my wedding. It was very comfy, and made the groom look a little taller than he would have if I'd worn heels. Mine were off white satin and very fancy schmancy looking, but not very pricey. That might be another way to go and they would definitely go with the flowy look of the dress.

October 8th, 2007, 10:27 PM
Crocs!!! Well, my crocs are beige!

October 8th, 2007, 10:35 PM
#2 for sure!!! just warn ure neice-in-law that they might not come back as new and shiny looking

As for being too much for egypt...u'd be surprised!!!

October 8th, 2007, 10:46 PM
LOL They're not all shiney and new now anyway.

October 8th, 2007, 11:37 PM
Number 2!!

I wouldn't wear nylons, you'll get waaay to hot! Better to use some light self-tanning cream and that in itself will disguise your scars... And I would go for more of fresh pinky nail colour with the metallic shoes, or bright red such as:

I took this pic last night to show my sister my broken toe, but it illustrates my point nicely....

The dress looks great on you!:thumbs up

October 9th, 2007, 09:39 AM
Must go with pair #2, they will make you look taller due to the V shape it makes on top of your foot, the other two will cut off your legs where the straps begin. Plus the dress looks like it is made of light, airy material and heavy shoes would not compliment it as well as more delicate ones would.

My second choice would be pair #3.

October 10th, 2007, 09:59 PM
I have to wear nylons because the inside of my thighs touch and it's really uncomfortable in the heat, nylons would save that, and add a little tummy control.

As for the nail colour, I don't think the pink or red would go with the green, besides, the nails are already Toffee Cream. :p

October 10th, 2007, 10:29 PM
Toffee cream sounds like a great nail color. And I think you're right about reds and pinks not going so well with the dress. I was thinking peach but toffee cream sounds like it's probably neutral which would be perfect.

Hanes makes a toeless nylon which works so great with open toed shoes. I guess other companies make them too but I've only ever seen Hanes in the toeless.

October 10th, 2007, 10:33 PM
I'm with the majority ~ #2 ! They make your feet look very shapely and perfectly arched. Not to mention that they show off your ankle ~ always an attractive feature on a woman. :thumbs up. And toffee creme on your toes like a sounds perfect to the print on the dress.

October 10th, 2007, 10:38 PM
LOL The Toffee Cream is like a bronzy colour.

I am a nylon kind of girl, I don't know why, I just feel more comfy in them.

October 10th, 2007, 10:42 PM
My vote is for #2 too.

You might remember back in the dress post and girdle discussion (that wasn't really being discussed) that I mentioned a "body suit" - still might be an alternative to nylons to wear "boxer" type shorts (more like bike shorts). I quite often wear them under skirts when it's hot out. They are made of very light cotton and are very comfortable.

October 10th, 2007, 10:45 PM
Yeah, I've always thought of that, but didnt' know where I could get something like that. Unfortunately, it's past store hours on Wednesday, tomorrow's Thursday (with a very busy evening), and I leave Friday afternoon! No big deal really.

October 10th, 2007, 10:52 PM
Byrd, I think you could get them at any department store or "intimates" type store (LaSenza etc.) - probably more likely at a department store. I've ordered them online but it's a bit too late for that. Oh well, just a thought anyways, if you are comfortable with nylons all the power to you (I can't stand them:yuck:)
You'll look fabulous any which way!!

October 10th, 2007, 11:09 PM

Remember, I'm also in a country where women are supposed to be completely covered. I just feel a bit more comfy tis all. If it gets to be too much, I can just take them off.

October 10th, 2007, 11:20 PM
I know what you feel like Byrd ~ unless it's an ultra casual dress, I have to wear stockings or nylons or I just don't feel properly dressed.

October 11th, 2007, 07:10 AM
I have to wear nylons because the inside of my thighs touch and it's really uncomfortable in the heat, nylons would save that, and add a little tummy control.

Ah, I see... my nails are always red, you see, so I wear it with everything, just change the shade -

I am sure your toes look beautiful!

October 11th, 2007, 06:31 PM
Ah, see I never paint my toes unless I have to.

October 11th, 2007, 06:37 PM
I vote pair #1

October 11th, 2007, 06:39 PM
You're gonna be back in time to drive me to Tennessee....right. Do you remember that you said you would drive me over the bridges:laughing:

October 11th, 2007, 06:41 PM
As long as it's after Oct 28th, I will be there.

October 11th, 2007, 06:45 PM
As long as it's after Oct 28th, I will be there.

Oh heck're gonna love Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg

October 11th, 2007, 08:26 PM
I like pair #2 but I also think that when people wear nylons they should have closed toed shoes on so I'm gonna have to go with #3 .

Good luck, best wishes for a fabulous wedding and a lifetime of love :).

October 11th, 2007, 08:39 PM
Yeah, I was thinking that too, so I may end up forgoing the nylons, #3 is so uncomfortable, and #2 is already packed. :p

October 12th, 2007, 01:19 AM
I liked number 2 until you said you are wearing nylons, then I would go with number 3. At least with number 3 you wouldn't see the seam.

October 14th, 2007, 12:33 PM
Too late, I'm already here, and if I did it right the poll should be closed.

Thanks all for helping me decide. :D
