Adopted by ANOTHER CAT!!!

I took in another stray cat tonight (some of you might remember me from the Adopted by a pregnant cat thread...by the way the kittens are very heathy and playful (i can't find the thread...or I would've kept y'all updated), mom cat lives with close friend...sorry I haven't gotten any picture on here yet)...lol.
He was wondering aroung the nieghborhood and choose my doorstep (well...I have a habit of taking them in) I talked to a nieghbor who said he was a stray and was left behind by his owners MONTHS ago. He's very friendly with people and other cats, but he is scared of my dog...and my dog is extremely friendly and wants to play with him...I don't want my doggie to get hurt...or the cat for that matter. I have a dog and hamster already in the house and soon will have a kitten too.
 how's the best way to keep everybody happy and relaxed? I don't want to have keep everybody separtated. My weakness for animals seems to be getting me into trouble

Time often heals everything. Allow everyone to get used to everyone, time, space. Hopefully they will work it out within a couple of weeks. Good luck! and congrats on the new furr kid!!

Good for you for taking another homeless cat in . In terms of integrating new animals in a multi-pet home, I do find that at least for a little while having a separate room for the new one works best. Some critters don't need much time there, others seem to need a bit more.

Isolating the new critter also gives you a chance to vaccinate, take care of any problems like ear mites or fleas etc. that are best not spread among the entire household. I hope all goes well with this cat...one less homeless cat is a GOOD thing-for everyone :thumbs up.
