Elle is an 18-month old Schnoodle who, contrary to the many negative posts on this mixed breed, has been the most hearty, healthy, affectionate, and loyal dog I've ever known. In January of this year, she had a vaccination at the vet which caused her to lose hair in a 1-2 inch circle on her back. Initially the skin was pink and new, but has now grown darker in color (in contrast to her golden colored hair). The skin is healthy as is the rest of her skin and coat. She eats an excellent diet of fish and veggies, and while the exposed circles of skin have had some growth, they are far from being covered by hair. The vet is generally casual about the hair loss, and avoids answering definitively on the regrowth. Thus, my question: are there any products in the marketplace that will help speed the regrowth? Is there a dietary plan that is recommended in such a situation? Are fish oils/Omega 3 tablets proven to help? Much appreciated...

I can't believe that your vet doesn't give you any definitive answers. I've never had anything like this occur after vaccinations but I know some of the members here have had their pets develop lumps at the vaccination site. I would be inclined to get another vet to have a look.
Although salmon and fish oil capsules are good for skin & hair issues I wouldn't give her any since she is on a fish based diet. I would give her coconut oil instead. It is available at health food stores and make sure it says "organic extra virgin" on the label. There is a thread here about the benefits of it and the dosage. I'll see if I can find it.

There's a few threads here about it now. It's quite popular with alot of the members.
