tiny dark red crunchy things on kitten

We just got a kitten (10weeks) she was apparently checked for fleas and worms but I have never seen a flea before and what I have looked up that is not what it is.
They are tiny I mean smaller than a poppy seed, dark red nothing moving(as far as I can see) and if you were to crush one it cracks almost denigrates into a powder. any ideas?
We also have an older cat and I have never seen anything like this before.

crush one of those things again and spray it with water. If it goes red then it's a flea. The red's blood.

that's what my vet did to show me my cat had fleas back in the day

also, check inside the ears to see if they're dirty. When i got my stray kitten her ears had dark stuff inside and it was earmites

Or they may be bits of dried blood from a flea bite, if not the actual flea.

Has your kitten been seen by a vet yet? Perhaps if she does have fleas your vet can prescribe a treatment that would be safe on such a young kitten. I wouldn't use any store bought treatments on such a young kitten, could be dangerous.
