My dog, Meko will be 12 year old in November. We are having a problem with him...of coarse, he is moving slow ... lately he seems to have lost control of his bowels...he walking and has droppings which are sometime quite messy...he will go for a few days then he makes a terrible mess...everywhere if you know what I mean...is there anything that we could do to help control this matter...he weighs 125 pounds so it is really not pleasant.

Welcome to pets.ca and we would love to see a pic of your Senior!
As dogs age they lose muscle tone just like we do and a sphincter is a big muscle. But loose, watery stools can also be symptoms of any number of diseases and conditions as well as a reaction to food, supplements and medicines. It would be best if your dog had a thorough assessment by a Vet to rule out any underlying medical issues.

Welcome to the forum. I agree with mummummum and a trip to the vet is necessary. At 12 yr. old Meko should be having a seniors blood panel done at least once a year. :pawprint:
