First off my dog was just neutered a few days back.. last Thursday to be exact so this may be something to do that that.. but today his poop was extreamly dry and almost crumbly.. Im wondering if this is simply hes been chewing his bones to much not drinking enough water.. or what. he hasnt changed food brands but he did switch from chicken to beef..

thanks

Too much bone will cause his poop to be dry and crumbly. I would throw the bones away after he has chewed the meat off. :pawprint:

Yes, bone will cause his poops to be white and crumbly. If you are feeding raw then this is a sign that there is too much bone in the diet. If you are just feeding recreational bones then I would definately cut back on the amount as well.

Pain medication, in particular opiates, can have a constipating effect so recreational bones are probably the last thing you want to give a dog with stitches recuperating from surgery.
