Does anyone know an aproximate for this statistic? It seems all the humane societies I contacted aren't really helpful...

You may find the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies' site helpful: http://cfhs.ca/info/2004_animal_shelter_statistics/

You can contact them as well for more updated statistics.

Sorry, no hard stats...but WAY TOO MANY  (way too many born, not enough spay/neuter-especially lowcost, and still too many people not clued in enough i.e. cats are like rabbits!!, one breeding pair produces thousands over 10 years, as each generation breeds...even factoring in 'not 100%' survival).

...So much easier to s/n and REDUCE the birthrate, as opposed to killing  so many poor :cat:cats. Hope you find the exact-ish info you're looking for, and excuse the mini-rant...
