Help! Dogs introducing right now!

September 19th, 2007, 11:34 AM
Hey I have a question that if possible I can get answered ASAP!! I have a 9 month old German Shepherd and she is always really REALLY hyper around dogs. Unfortunately I don't know many people with dogs who are willing to spend time with us and there are no dog parks in town. BUT one of my friends just dropped his new puppy off for me to babysit for the day and my dog is going nuts, she really wants to play but because the puppy who is about 4 mths now is barking at her, she is getting too hyper. I have her on a leash right now and I just put her in another room but how can I get them both to stay calm while I introduce them. This dog is going to be here for the day and my dog is diabetic if she gets too freaky it will mess with her levels. Any suggestions please cuz I don't have anyone to help me, I didn't think they would be this NUTS! Thanks so much!

P.S. Normally when she meets dogs we just let them play it out, but this dog is much to small for her to be picking on right now and I don't want my dog to accidently hurt her even though she isn't aggressive, she is much bigger and still a puppy herself so she doesn't know how to control herself yet.

Hey, ok I just thought I'd update. The dogs are fine now, I just kept re-introducing them a few times until they finally calmed down a bit and now they are content and playing nice. I had to however, put blankets all over the furniture cuz there drooling lol. Thanks anyway! All is good!
