weimaraner: hives on top of her head

my dog is almost three and yesterday she had a few small bumps (hives) on the top of her head. I looked at them to make sure there weren't any ticks on her head, she loves to run through the grass and leaves. then today about 10 more popped up. they don't seem to bother her.
could they be oak mites? from all the leaves she's running through. or allergies to rag weed?
has anyone experienced this with their dog?

Have you seen gall on the oak leaves in your area? If so, it's entirely possible if your dog had contact with the galled leaves. Luckily, the mites only live on larvae so other than their itchy bite there's nothing else to worry about.
