So she send me this link, Voo's mom that is, I am so tempted to rescue a golden...but I don't think we have the room right now and my DH would probably flip out, but she continues to send me these very tempting links...
I want them all! I want a pack like Hazel. Hazel, can your DH talk with my DH? ha!
Purpledomino September 14th, 2007, 02:12 PM That is one nice looking doggy! I too would find him hard to resist. Good luck with that! :dog:
mummummum September 14th, 2007, 02:13 PM Didn't Frenchy have a Paco at one time? or wait was that Prin's Newf? He's adorable at any rate and THAT'S why I NEVER go on Petfinder on my own. I get teary-eyed, then I start plotting and scheming ~ after all just one more won't be make a whole lot of difference. But, I can honestly say now that I have lived with multiple dogs for an extended period of time I could never go back to having just one.
breeze September 14th, 2007, 02:27 PM Now you are sounding like me !! lol lol lol
It iws very adictive isn't it :D
JanM September 14th, 2007, 03:20 PM Go for it Ford Girl - you'll never regret it!
Ford Girl September 14th, 2007, 03:34 PM If I was single I would for sure, I would have called already, or even thought of fostering. BUT my DH is a very schedual, planned, budgetted kinda guy, someone who plans everything far in advance and tries not to vary from the schedual, he's always 10 minutes early, a guy who's food can't touch on his plate, you know anyone like that?
Dazy sent his world in to a tail spin when we first got her, plus we live in a duplex. I am the exact opposite, so we compliment each other that way, he grounds me a bit, I try to free him from the tight grips of his schedual! LOL!!!
I will mention it tonight, but he probably won't budge. What I need to happen is for someone to put a golden on my door step with a little note that reads..."please give me a home"....he is a softee deep inside, he has a huge heart for animals...if one so happen to land in our laps it would be staying...he truely loves animals but one dog is enough to throw any schedual out the window! OMG, I crack up when I think of how anal his is about things like that...sometimes I forget to check the PAID box on purpose on our budget sheet on the fridge, it drives him nuts...is it paid, is it not paid...oh my gawd..what are we going to do? You should see when I mix things on my plate...and pour ketchup on it!!! LMAO!
hazelrunpack September 14th, 2007, 03:35 PM I want them all! I want a pack like Hazel. Hazel, can your DH talk with my DH? ha!
Do you think Paco is a good match for you? You'll be going from one to two, won't you? The first increase is the hardest and actually involves the biggest increase in work/time--getting #3, seems easier...#4, easier yet (etc) :D I'll spare you my bogus-mathematical explanation of why it's so, but it does seem easier each time...to crazy hazel, anyway. :o
If you think Paco is a good match and you have the time (remember...twice the dogs, nearly twice the time!), go for it! :thumbs up I've never regretted any of the new additions... And I'm really no crazier than I was before we became a multidog family though hazel and madame hazel snicker behind their hands when I say that.
So that leaves the DH. 'fraid you're on your own there, Ford Girl!

I'd like a male golden, preferably a rescue, older then Dazy, but still young enough to play with her. Yes, going from one to two.
Great, if I'm on my own, I'm hooped! LOL! I think Pubert would side with DH on this one.
This is all dream talk to me, I know we don't have room for two...but I'd like another. Some day maybe...:dog: :dog:
hazelrunpack September 14th, 2007, 03:53 PM Some day, then... :cloud9:
Reality bites, sometimes, but best you go into a commitment knowing you've got the room and the time than jump in with both feet and find yourself in a bind! :thumbs up If it's meant to be, it'll happen. :D

:cloud9: he's cute (then again , he's a golden ) go for it ! Tell hubby you're going into depression and the doc has prescribed double the zootherapy ... :goodvibes:
M3X , Paco was my last foster , he's the one Rottielover drove all the way to Toronto !
Ford Girl September 17th, 2007, 01:14 PM So, I brought it up Friday night while we were in the garage working on the 4x4, which is where he's most comfortable...and he says..."well, we can get another dog if you want, but only if we are going to stop trying to have a baby", he said it in a nice sincere way, he says.."we would have to make that choice cuz we can't have 2 dogs and then a baby, not in this house not right now, especially a rescue who will need our 100% attention, it won't be fair to anyone"...and I agree with him....so we will just see what life brings our way....:goodvibes:
I can still dream of having a pack some day right? :cloud9:

Ford Girl September 18th, 2007, 02:28 PM ok so you guys start on the baby making right now
we are working on it....:D
Baby or dog? Our mothers would like a grand baby of the non-fur kind, altho she loves the critters. I am on the fence myself. Marko's post of selfish/baby really applied to us, we are at that point in our lives...baby, no baby, dogs, bigger house...nows the time to decide....
It the mean time, have fun trying I guess....:D
breeze September 18th, 2007, 02:40 PM IMO this is the order I would chose
bigger house; once they grow up you need the room (to run away when needed)
baby; you have the bigger house now is the time for kids
new puppy ; once the baby getts bigger time to cause havick in the house hold :D
