Rick C September 14th, 2007, 09:49 AM Keeper and Abby were at Elbow Lake on a frosty Saturday morning . . . . we were out hunting for the fresh snow we could see on the mountains from home:

Below, Abby marches through Elbow Pass. If we were to head off into the background we could, amazingly, walk right to our house . . . albeit in about three days.

Ah, HA . . . . le snow. Although not much. In the next month, this place will get a lot more and the Highway that gets you close to this walk will close for the winter in December.

Below, at home, Abby at sunset. After a rough few days, Abby is mostly over being porcupined although she has two inside her in her armpit area obviously poking. They'll eventually poke out. Antibiotics are taking care of any infection.

Ford Girl September 14th, 2007, 10:27 AM Oh my, your pics are always so beautiful, and I don't just mean the 2 goldens and of course Polly!!! :lovestruck: This is one reason why I love living in Calgary, 20 minutes away you see the most beautiful mountains....pictures usually don't do them any justice, but yours seems to capture them beautifully! :thumbs up
mummummum September 14th, 2007, 10:41 AM Frost and snow ??? I'm still wearing my shorts and T's !!! Nnnnoooooooooooo NOT YET !!!!! :yell:
And a big Owwweee bravery award goes to Abby for the quills in the armpit!
That lake is stunning !
Lukka'sma September 14th, 2007, 10:43 AM Rick your images are first class.
Snow on the ground :cloud9:, I only wish I could say the same, I would be delighted with a snowfall.
Poor Abby, I wasn't aware that the quills would penetrate to a point where they are not removable:eek:. Please tell me this would only be a small length of a broken needle inside of her and not the entire quill. Gawd
Love4himies September 14th, 2007, 10:53 AM Oh your pictures are so beautiful and you capture the dogs and the scenery so beautifully. I do miss the mountains of Alberta so much and enjoy your pics. In all the places I have been in the world, the Alberta rockies are my favourite.

Rick C September 17th, 2007, 10:28 AM A miracle this morning . . . . Carol tells me Polly jumped up on the bathroom counter top.
All air, no rim. She's never been able to do that before.
Polly has no back feet, just her leg stumps. It's been about 3.5 years now since her amputations.
