Molly's Paddling Adventure Part 3

One of the other people on our paddling trip sent me some photos and they are great... they tell some of the real "spirit" of the trip (relaxed, fun, great dog company, fabulous people, lots of laughs)

Here we go....
Dagny was definitely one of the most photogenic of our group (and her mom sent me these pictures)
You might get an idea of her size from the first photo.... porta dog!
She looked just beautiful SOME of the time
Definitely loved!:lovestruck:

Molly and Abby both proved their worth (like they need to ) by showing off there excellent rescue abilities. I could hold onto their hind haunches and they would pull me in the water. Quite amazing! Both were my heroes! Someone took a picture of my two dog water chariot, me with a hand on each dog, pulling me along but you'll have to check back later for it as I haven't got my hands on it yet

Here's Abby showing her stuff!

Some intense negotiation sessions went on... some with better results than other. The first picture was titled "communication". The human in the picture actually works in the communications field!:D

Molly was so determined that I not get her ball she tired to push me over - with her nose, on MY NOSE. I think both of us were having trouble breathing!

Good girl Molly :highfive: & you too Abby (wherever it is that you may be) - water dogs to the rescue :lovestruck:

Dogs covered in sand always look like they just discovered the best thing to play with :D

Love the nose to nose!

Dagny is so cute hanging in her jacket. :lovestruck: That's one cute little kyootle! :thumbs up

I wish there were some camping expeditions like that around here somewhere close. I'd love to take a different Pack-member each weekend. :cloud9:

Hazel, you could always start up your own adventure co.:D

The nose thing made me laugh too - I didn't know anyone was watching
Molly was pushing so hard she was actually backing me into the rock and both our noses were totally squished. I couldn't believe what she was doing

For safety Molly and Sienna felt it necessary to escort us into the muddy bog portage landing. Sorry I missed the muddy pup pics.

Too bad the dogs weren't too helpful with the portaging though. I guess lifejackets are heavy enough:laughing:

How long were the portages, otter? Were the smaller dogs able to make them easily, or were some of them carried part way, as well? :dog:

Longest portage was about 550 meters (I think a meter and a yard are close??)
Everyone made it over the portages on their own four/two feet though I wouldn't have complained if someone carried ME!

Before we left our campsite on the last day everyone got a "portrait" with their dog. We had this perfectly flat rock, overlooking the water, engulfed in sunshine, that was the perfect portrait platform.

Oh Otter, I have absolutely adored all three series of your photos:cloud9:. What a wonderful time you guys had! What really is striking though is the amazing bond you and Molly have formed, it comes across in all the photos of both of you. It just really struck me how lucky you both are to have found each other the way you did, and how happy you make each other.

Beautiful photos, thank you for sharing them!

Glad you've all enjoyed taking a bit part in this adventure... sharing it with you guys has helped me enjoy it all over again!:cloud9:

It's gonna be hard to top this last adventure... but, you never know:fingerscr

I have to admit i'm a die hard kayaker but I can't figure out how to fit Molly in my boat either, someone needs to come up with a dog friendly kayak. Maybe something to work on over the winter. I started out canoeing (with many canoe trips as a kid) but when I moved to Lake Superior I found the joy of kayaking (and no portaging!) now, with Molly such a camping star, i'm rethinking the canoe.

Tommysmom - I have to remind myself sometimes (especially when she's driving me nuts:laughing:)how little time Molly and I have really been together, she's sure become a huge part of my life and I LOVE IT:cloud9:

I love the pics of your trip. It reminded me of all the great backpacking and rafting trips I took with Shade over the years. Molly's beautiful white muzzle and gentle eyes remind me of her. She looks like an amazing dog. She is lucky to have someone who loves her so, and vice versa. :lovestruck:
