Hello! I thought I did this already, but I can't seem to find it. So let's try this again. My black lab has a broken tooth which has caused an infection, the vet has said the nerves should die, and the tooth should not have to come out. I do not agree and am looking for some feedback.

Welcome to pets.ca !
I'm not sure what your Vet is thinking on this one. Nerves control sensation and have no control over or effect on oral bacteria. Infection may set in at the tooth site and could lead to bone loss if the jaw also becomes infected. The jagged edges of the tooth could also be tearing up the insides of your dog's cheeks and jowls. He may stop eating and drinking because of the active nerves (they don't die that quickly...). I'd get the tooth pulled asap personally.
