Dr. Lee,

I have been posting about a litter of kittens that I am fostering and a few of them have been sick. One in particular which was the biggest of the brood is particularly sick. I have seen 4 vets who can't answer any questions. He is currently on antibiotics. .25 ml of metronidazole twice a day. He weighs 500 grams, but should be closer to 600 according to his weight gain chart. He stopped eating on Sunday and is currently being supplimented with formula from the vet's office. He is also vomiting and has no appetite.

Momma was a stray brought to humane society just before giving birth so there is no medical history on momma.

I brought in a fecal sample and came back clean for parasites. He has gasey white diarreha.

Any ideas??

Two of the sickest kittens were taken back to the vet's this morning. They have decided to hospitalize them today and over night.

Panleukopenia tests have come back negative. They will be on fluids for the day and taken home at night by a vet tech to continue the nursing.
