Really want a dog

Hello everyone I am new here. I just wanted to say hello and let out some steam, I recently found a puppy I wanted, I contacted the person, she replied back saying the first person to call and talk about the dog can have her. I called and she said she sold her 5 minutes ago. So I just got an email 2 days later, the person didn't want the dog am I still interested. Well 2 hours and 10 min later I got the email and I called her back right away and they told me they sold her already. My kids are so upset, and me I am very mad. I do not think that was right can someone help me to understand why she would do this.

She did it because she doesn't give a rat's behind about the dog but wants the money she can make selling it.

Sitting in your local shelter you will find a ton of dogs (and probably some puppies too) that would love to keep your kids feet warm in the winter and run and play in the yard with them in summer.
