joeysmama July 24th, 2007, 09:40 AM We're watching a golden for some people who went out of town for a few days. They asked us to let him out 3 times a day. He's used to just being let out in his own yard, and I don't think he does well on a leash at all. I've never known him to be on a leash. So they've never let us just bring him home with us--our yard isn't fenced.
But what a love !!!!! We had cuddle time this morning. I got down on the floor with him to rub his tummy and he threw a paw over my shoulder---the big baby. Soooo cute.
But he's lonely. We try to stay with him a while each time we go and I think it helped a lot. He doesn't usually eat when his people are gone but yesterday and today his bowl was empty in the morning.
I can see why people are smitten with goldens !:goodvibes:
Frenchy July 24th, 2007, 11:28 AM :laughing: I'm glad you're enjoying him ! They are BIG sucks ! Always asking ;
Do you love me ? You love me right ? I'm so adorable right ? :laughing:

Ford Girl July 24th, 2007, 02:59 PM I second that!!!
We had friends watch Dazy for 1 night and the next week they adopted a rescue pup!! The woman just wanted a puppy any puppy, the man wanted a golden, and in fact he always jokes about stealing Dazy and wanting a golden...and together we joke that 3 years from now we will each get a male from the same litter...I stress the word JOKE...not sure I'd get another puppy...the memory of the first 3 months is still too fresh in my mind...LOL!!!
The breed is something else, always wanting to be with it's people, snuggle bugs, clowns, show offs!! :lovestruck: :lovestruck: :lovestruck: :lovestruck: :lovestruck:

Everytime a foster leaves , the house seems empty, even if 3 dogs and a cat remain. :shrug: I think it's because goldens take so much space, I mean they like to be in your face , very very close to you. :cloud9:

Mine cries when we use the bathroom and close the door, and when we come out it's like we just got home from work!!! Heaven forbid we close to door or leave her alone for 2 minutes!!! hahah! I feel so loved all the time. :cloud9:
joeysmama July 25th, 2007, 04:45 PM Cooper will nudge the bathroom door open if we don't make sure it's shut good and tight. And he's a famous underwear thief so he then tries to steal our underpants. We've explained to him that he can't take them off people who are sitting on the potty but he tries. (TMI ???):o
Frenchy July 25th, 2007, 08:38 PM Oh yes , going to the bathroom .... with 4 goldens ! :eek: that's when Daisy was still with us and I had fosters. OMG :laughing:
