Introducing older cats.

My room mate's booyfriend just mooved in and he has a cat. In our house we already have a cat who is 4 and a dog who is 3. The animals all get together well but my cat keeps using the new cat's litter box and not his own. I was wondering if we should have them share the litter box or try to get my cat back to his own box? Or is there another method.

I have 3 litter boxes and let the cats choose which ones they want to use. As long as they're both using the boxes, I wouldn't worry about it.

As long as they aren't going outside the box, just leave it the way it is. If that happens just add another box.

I agree. Just leave both litter boxes and let them decide which ones to use. I have two cats and two litter boxes. They both use the open one to pee in and the enclosed one to poop in.
