My neighbours son is an idiot

This is the guy (in his 30's) who got their cat Crystal a few years ago. Never spends any time with her and wonders why she doesn't come to him. She's pretty hostile and wild, they declawed her and she's outdoors on her own a lot
He comes home yesterday with a new kitten (OH MY GOD!). He's driving by some farmhouse in kitchener and sees a sign for free kittens. Gets one and brings it home, doesn't think that maybe Crystal isn't going to like this kitten, doesn't think about any health issues this kitten may have and give to Crystal, and doesn't even realize that it's far too small to be away from it's mother. This kitten is no more than 5 weeks old, it's really teeny. He wants my neighbours to give me Crystal (oh, and I already have 4 cats, and maybe you might want to ask me first), and then he wants to keep this kitten. So is he wanting to do this every couple of years or what.
His sister is very attached to Crystal and Crystal to her, so she's having none of it. They're now trying to find a new home for the kitten.

:yell: I hope someone explains to him an animal is not like a car, you don't replace it by a younger model when it gets older :frustrated:

I'll try to help them find a home for the kitten if it comes to that :frustrated:
I'm hoping to find out later this evening if some friends of theirs took the kitten. I know they had a few people over and they were hoping they would take the kitten.

Just fed Crystal and the big stray Max. I guess in the scheme of things, what's one more:laughing: . Yes this guy needs to grow up big time and learn that animals don't get traded in because they don't stay kittens.

He wanted to get a malamute puppy a couple of years ago, but his mother quashed that thank goodness  I could start up a rescue from his animals alone if he had free reign at that house.

Does this 30+ twit still live at home?

Yes, he still lives at home, one of the daughters came back home too after her marriage broke up. Some people have kids and they never leave
I never see this guy cut the grass or shovel snow, nothing. He's the only son, 4 girls one boy so I guess he got spoiled rotten.

See if you can get the address of the farm. 5 weeks old is young and still should be with it's mom. After you get the address of the farm, I would call the KW Humane Society and tell them that you are concerned for the kitten's welfare. It takes someone who is knowledgeable about kittens and what to feed, how much to feed, and how many times a day too feed. The kitten should be weighed first. These kittens could actually end of suffering and possible die if in the wrong hands, someone who doesn't know how to properly care of such a young kitten. Which most people don't.

I'm sure the Humane Society will go over the cons of advertising free kittens (or free any animal, for that matter). With them.

Hope this helps

Well, he's insisting on keeping this kitten. I'm sure they'll get this one declawed as well:sad:
I'm not sure how well Crystal is going to take all this. She comes into my house when she's not happy over there, so I guess I should be prepared for a frequent house guest for a while.
He doesn't remember what road he was on at the time he found the house with the free kittens sign. He was doing a lot of travelling up in that area on business. The woman with the kittens said that any that they don't find homes for will be dumped in a field  Would be a whole lot easier if she just got her female spayed. I wonder how many kittens she's dumped in fields. I hope people like that get their cruelty back at them sometime in life.

I don't get it. Some people just see animals as disposable objects, that have no feelings and can be thrown away when they get tired of them.

How can you hold a little living animal, and look into their eyes and not think they have feelings?

This guy needs a good smack upside the head. He's too old to be eating so much poop! What a loser!

Found out yesterday that the daughter took the kitten to a shelter to be adopted out
Poor thing, still no home, but at least it's not sitting out in the middle of a field.
Apparently the son wasn't too impressed when he got home to find that they had taken the kitten away, so the saga continues.....I wonder if the shelter would give it back to him if he went to get it.

I think he is lying to you. HE KNOWS the street. I would be calling your local SCPA and let them know that this lady is just dumping kittens in a field. The only way she will get charged with animal cruely is if people file a compliant with the SPCA. They don't know what is going on, if they are not made aware of it.

If you are concerned about it, do something about it. Sorry I am just frusatated with people who are "concerned" for a animal's welfare, but as soon as they have to do something, they are all of sudden not concerned anymore. I deal with this on a daily basis at work. It's disgusting.

ACO22, if he says he doesn't know, there's not much I can do about it so don't come down all over me about being concerned about it, I've looked after more stray cats than I care to remember and still do. His sister has called the humane society in kitchener, but it's a big place with lots of fields. He can only remember the area he was in, he doesn't go to kitchener often....twit he is, I would certainly remember her if it was me but someone who treats kittens like disposable items surely wouldn't notice I'm sure.
His sister has been talking to the shelter here and the kitten is gaining weight and has become attached to another little female kitten. They've assured her they won't adopt the kitten back out to the brother.

That's nice of her to follow up . Kittens get adopted very easely so I wouldn't worry.
