Traing A Blind Dog

what does everyone thing a good training for a blind dog is ? My wife and I were thinking Clicker training :fingerscr . She can play feach now as long as she can here the toy ( On her 3 toy in 2 days) :sad: ($$)

I would say instead of a clicker use a marker work like "yes" or "good" That is what I do with my guys because honestly, clickers annoy the crap out of me LOL Remember, training is going to involve all verbal commands and you will ave to guide her with touch and smell (baiting her into the position you want her to be in). If possible, try to find a trainer in your area that has worked with disabled dogs. Good luck!

AT THIS TIME SHE KNOW SIT and give paw(for food):D . she also know playes fetch ( she waites untill it hit the ground then gets it). I have tossed the Kong wubba 40 or 50 feet and she only misses it 1 out of 10 times. and then I just tell her to turn around and then she gets it :lovestruck:

It looks like your doing OK so far!

I did have a blind dog as a child, but when we first adopted her she could see fine and just lost it during her old age...
