Dog choking

My dog is making a constant noise like a cough or a choke. At the end he acts as if he is trying to get something out of his throat, or vomit. He has exspelled a clear foamy mucus, as well a a yellow foamy mucus form is mouth. This has been going on since early morning today. What might be wrong. He has not barked all day either...instead its this gaging, choking, cough sound.

It sounds like he has something stuck in his mouth or throat. Open his mouth and check. If you can't see anything or can't dislodge it then get him to the vet asap. Good luck and keep us posted. :fingerscr :goodvibes:

ForceMiles,

What type of dog? Age? history?

The choking/hacking can have a wide range of causes: upper respiratory inflammation/infection, foreign body, metabolic causes, gastro-intestinal problems can sometimes show up this way, lung problems (parasitic, allergic, toxic, cancerous), heart problems.... etc...

Can you supply more information?

Thanks

Sounds like bronchitis to me.
