Where to find a used crate?

Does anyone know where to find a used crate? I will be getting my puppy in just under 3 weeks, and after debating whether I wanted to crate-train or not, I have decided that this would be the best for us (the decision came with the help of some fellow BBers who posted some encouraging advice for me on another post :goodvibes: ).

I would prefer a used crate so I can keep the cost down a bit (holy cow those things get pricey!! ).

Try posting a "wanted" ad on free classified websites. I've had good luck with that.

Check out the classifieds in your neighbourhood....I was able to pick up an X Large Crate for $50.00..

Great choice on using the crate! I can assure you you will not regret it!!

Good Luck with the new pup!

I don't know where you live, but if you have craigslist or kijiji you can check in their free sections or the pet accessories, they usually have some good deals, or even keeping your eye out at garage sales, just make sure you bleach it well before your pup comes home, because there are some illnesses that can withstand regular disinfecting.

Good luck with your new pup. :)

Just to add www.supershopper.com to the list, they also do an economy one at petsmart that wasn't to expensive. They are around.

You can also join your local freecycle http://www.freecycle.org/ and gift some of your own stuff at the same time !

Freecycled is designed solely to keep stuff out of landfills.

You could also try www.usedmontreal.com I shop on the Ottawa version all the time, there is decent stuff, usually along the lines of what is on kijiji, and typically better that Ottawa's craiglist.
