Has anyone ever had the same experience?? My 3.5 month Springer pup actively searches through the grass to find worms and eats them. I find this very gross. I have to pull them out of her mouth and it gaggs me! I am not sure but, I don't think the worms will hurt her. Anyone got info???

They won't hurt her but I would teach her the "leave it" command. :)

Thanx. "Leave it" is part of her obedience training...we are working on it! She seems to know exactly where they are-puts her nose right into the grass deep to the roots!! I am sure this must be another stage she has to pass through.

Yeah, we have lots of dew worms in our yard and the dogs can tell where they are before they break through. It's funny to watch them cock their heads from side to side staring at the ground. :D

Thanks- its very reassuring to learn my dog isn't alone!!!! You are so right about the dog staring at the ground....I was beginning to think my "Rio" had neurotic tendencies---
