Linking Pictures from Picasa

Would anyone be able to help me out with this? I've switched image hosting services from photobucket to Picasa, but can't seem to be able to get them to display within messages I post on here? Any ideas?

I manage to do it but it takes a bit of work. If you use the "link to this picture" link it opens two fields - one to link via e-mail or messenger and the other to link via html. I use the html link, copy the link from picassa and then in pets.ca paste that info in the image section (i.e. click on the little mountain picture and put the info you copied from picassa there). Now you have to edit the link sightly as you only need the IMG info. Below is the link I copied from one of my pics, yours should look similar....

now you have to delete all the info before the img tag ie. the green text:

and don't forget to set the size of the image you want to show BEFORE you copy the link (cause th default is only a thumbnail)

If you want the picture to link back to your album you need highlight the image info you put in and attach a link to it (ie. click on the little "world" icon and insert the link to your album - which is basically all the info you deleted from the img tag i.e. <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/murraymel/Molly/photo?authkey=mlWhbJvjElk#5067572804377901410"><img src="http://lh4.google.com/murraymel/RlOinc5f-WI/AAAAAAAAAJI/sVECWrj9iHc/s144/IMG_0320.JPG" /></a> all the green stuff.

I hope that makes some sense. It works well even if it is a bit fiddly. Once you've done it once it is much easier.

If anyone knows a better way.....let me know too!

Is it possible some of the text needed/not needed is the wrong colour? Its not working at all, though I have managed to make a clickable link, I can't get a picture to show onthe preview screen?

Ok, i'm going to try it out again.... I must have missed something:

html to insert in website:
(just below this info you will see "select size" - choose "thumbnail" or "small" "medium" or "large" (I usually use "medium")
copy all of the info in the "html to insert in website" box

click on the little mountain icon
insert the info you just copied
and delete everything (the stuff in dark green) and leave:
h.t.t.p://lh4.google.com/murraymel/RlOinc5f-WI/AAAAAAAAAJI/sVECWrj9iHc/s144/IMG_0320.JPG (note h.t.t.p should read http - I had to ad the periods to make it show right)

when you look at the picture in the screen where you are composing the message it should look like this
[..IMG]http://lh4.google.com/murraymel/RlOinc5f-WI/AAAAAAAAAJI/sVECWrj9iHc/s144/IMG_0320.JPG"[/IMG..]
(though without the .. before IMG - cause I just needed that to show you the text without actually showing the picture)

in your post it should look like this (before you "preview":

(take out the ... in front of IMG)

Don't paste the link from picassa into your post - paste it into the box that comes up when you hit the mountain icon in your post... then delete the extra first part of the link there, before you go back to the post. Otherwise I think the link gets abbreviated like yours did (i.e. the program puts .... in the middle of the link instead of having the complete text appear).

Let me know if you get it working... otherwise I can try to explain in a different way.

Ok, so now how do I make the picture bigger?

To get a bigger picture just choose the "small", "medium" or "large" picture size instead of "thumbnail" in the drop down selection beside select size located just below where you copied the photo link info.

Select size (drop down box here where you can select other sizes, "thumbnail" is the default)

This is an amazing site that tuns really long URLs (internet addresses)

All I can say for myself is D'UH! Of course I saw the drop down in Picasa, but I somehow thought there was a more complicated thing I'd have to do here! I'm going to put together a post for Charley's latest Grand Adventure, a white water canoe trip. See the pics folder soon!
